Hory doly

Hory doly – twins, but at the same time opposites. Two contrasts that could not exist without each other. The exhibition by Ondřej Mestek and Pepa Dvořáček offers the viewer a view of the mountains and foothills through painting and photography. Although the two media have many formal differences, they communicate and connect with each other. They share a unique, strange symbiosis with each other.

Like the two artists, they share not only a long-standing friendship but also a strong relationship with the mountains and nature. The authors have known each other since they were very young, but it wasn’t until adulthood that they discovered a common creative path, when their paths accidentally crossed again.

The exhibition Hory doly is their third joint project mapping the mountains, especially the Krkonoše Mountains. The authors do not try to find a common point of view, but rather to offer the viewer a more comprehensive and broader insight into the phenomenon of mountain themes, which is central to the location of Pec pod Sněžkou and Grandhotel Hradec.
